Luxury brand Kilometre has launched a series of exclusive designs of haute couture 19th century white dress-shirts from south of France with exquisite detailed embroideries handmade in Mexico and India, all based on the idea travel. Kilometre uses vintage shirts as its canvas to express the meridians and parallels of travel. The shirts take their wearers on a journey down the road least travelled. These passengers follow a serpentine path of discovery, heading towards the remote and exotic. Procida rather than Capri, Kastellorizo instead of Mykonos, Hudson Valley and not the Hamptons: Kilometre’s intuition allows to detect the future’s hippest spots: an undiscovered beach soon to become a gypsy hangout, or an empty town in the early throes of a renaissance. Kilometre’s shirtdresses are covered with embroidered representations of these elusive places - maps, rough sketches, coordinates each like a cherished memory.
